The continuation: Charles got thrown off by his horse and injured his leg, Erik took him back to the Xavier manor, where he was invited to stay, from the sudden rain (such a convenient rain oho~).
And then they spent the first night together…chatting…hmmmm
…This makes Erik!me question my flirting skills because I haven’t gotten Charles in my bed yet pfffffffftt

He wasn’t exceptionally talented - his fingers too short to reach the long notes - but it was the way he played, the life and enthusiasm that was apparent on his face and the way his eyes lit up as his fingers danced across the keys that made Brandon rethink his first impression.
There was a rhythm to the way he moved that translated into the music flowing from the piano, playful; cheeky. The smile on his lips whenever he hit just the right notes or played the perfect chord, proud but humble.
He wasn’t exceptionally talented, this man, but there was something about him.

…So there is that story where Erik can only fall asleep if Charles is sleeping too. I’m thinking about a story where for some reason their minds (/brainwaves) get crosswired (either by accident or because of, for example, Charles’s desperate attempt to save Erik’s mind from some kind of attack) and become inseparrable. They are still their own people but have to learn to live in synch to be able to function properly. And yes, Erik could fall asleep, if he tried meditating or sleeping pills - but the best, the most relaxing hours of his sleep are where Charles is sleeping too…
There’s an online graphic novel, Dreamless, which has kind the reverse of this. “…[about] Elanor and Takashi. Born on opposite sides of the world on the same day, when they sleep, they never dream, but instead see each others lives in real time. They form an unshakeable bond, but their strangeness of their situation and the impending war (WW2) threaten their relationship.”
