“You should’ve seen me at 13.”

Totally late to the party here but this moment almost killed me in my glee. (Although I think Jesse says You didn’t know me at 13 instead?)

Heterosexual quotes of heterosexuality from the heterosexual Andrew Garfield:

My connection with Jesse — I could talk about that for days and weeks and months and years. We, um, there were some subconscious forces happening as we were going in on this sort of rehearsal process, and it was probably more from just my own perspective, but my subconscious knew I had to fall in love with him. And see him as a brother. And have a genuine love for him, and it was easy to project that on such a kind of innocent face. And innocent soul. It was really lovely to, um — it’s so weird and awkward saying this right here with you, um, but I’m gonna keep going. No, stay, stay. You need to hear this.

But yeah, it was great! I’ve been a fan of Jesse as an actor ever since I saw The Squid and the Whale. You know, it was just a wonderful thing to be able to have a genuine connection with someone and allow that to bleed into not being filmed. We’d share rides in together in the morning and we’d eat lobster in Boston and crab in Baltimore — wherever we’d go, we’d have the shellfish of that specific area of the United States. Little things like that. It was just really, really a fun thing.”

***

“Jesse’s body is the best picture of all”

***

“I think it happens naturally. I think if a film is cast well and put together well, then the feelings towards the people you’re supposed to have feelings towards will be there anyway. Right now me and Jesse Eisenberg are playing best friends and I don’t know if it’s subconscious because I have to portray it on screen — I don’t think it is — but I feel like we really get on as people and I have a lot of love for him even though I’ve only known him for two weeks. I think if you’re in tune with what you’re doing and you’re subconsciously working towards something, then all that stuff happens naturally and you haven’t got to force it.”

***

“I was just loopy and Jesse was messing with me off camera. Actually, he couldn’t help it; I find Jesse funny even if he’s just staring into space.”

***

“It felt important to me that Eduardo sees—well, Andrew sees Jesse as his younger brother that I’m trying to navigate and guide through the minefield of college life, and that I care about him deeply. That was easy for me to do as I care about Jesse deeply and I cared about him as soon as I met him, because he just looked so fragile and vulnerable and as soon as you get to know him a little bit, you admire him greatly in his brilliance.”

***

“He’s the girlfriend. He’s kind of the male girlfriend of the relationship in a really genuine way, like, at the start he’s the big brother to Mark and attempts to help him through the social minefield of college life.”

***

“I’m looking for Jesse’s (Eisenberg) hand but it’s not there.”

***

“I had to be in awe of him, and I had to support his genius, and to be protective of him and want him for myself… to be his boyfriend, really, in any way but a sexual way. So that was… it was all very very easy, because I think Jesse is a genius - I think he’s brilliantly intelligent, brilliantly funny, intuitive, sensitive, but yet he has this incredible innocence and naivete about him in terms of the people he meets constantly, and the way he sees the world. And so it was very easy for me to want to spend every moment of every day with him… So it was - that was a piece of cake, to fall in love with Jesse.

***

“Jesse is so smart and so funny and so cerebral and neurotic and vulnerable. You could look at Jesse’s face and you just want to engulf him and protect him from the world, this vulnerable creature.”

***

I wanted my relationship with Jesse to be deep and real, and I had to care about him, like a brother I’d forgive anything. Even in arguments, there would be this blood type. I did dream about Eduardo and his struggle. We split shooting one scene over two days – the scene when I arrive in Palo Alto at the apartment. We shot half of it, then I went to sleep and had nightmares about breaking up with Jesse, and felt I’d behaved badly.”

***

“From my side anyway, it was very easy for me to project and feel very strong feelings for Jesse as Mark and as Jesse. What’s wonderful is when you can blur that line in a safe way – not in like, you know, a I’m-going-to-cheat-on-my-girlfriend with this man.

***

“There’s something about your face, that kind of um, engenders (laughing), a kind of…a well of um…joy! Springs from my soul.”

***

“I mean, like, he had to repress a lot of his sexiness as well, which I think he found very difficult.”

***

I’m sure there are many more but these were the only ones I had bookmarked. Andrew, really. I mean. ATTEMPT man. MAKE AN ATTEMPT.

  • I find vulnerability very sexy. I find it very attractive in other people. I really appreciate it in other people. I think it’s something we — especially men — are kind of scared of and understandably so because we’ve been kind of told to not cry. So I find it kind of brave and admirable when anyone can be vulnerable.” —Andrew Garfield

#Completely Hetero

When we were in Boston, it was like, we would wake up and we would be the only people we’d know. But when we got back to LA, I was miserable. Andrew has a girlfriend here, and so he wouldn’t spend every minute with me.

Jesse Eisenberg, re: filming The Social Network in LA after returning from shooting in Boston.
I think a few days ago I mentioned that I finally saw The Social Network.

And well, now I’m currently having some embarrassingly strong feelings for Andrew/Jesse. Yep. Sooo heads up, I guess? Brace yourselves for some reblogs of their very awkward mugs, god bless ‘em.
